The Billion Mantra Initiative: Karmapa Chenno
The BMI; Billion Mantra Initiative
: Karmapa Chenno.
In early 2003, a project was conceived by a private individual concerned about the current situation that limits people's physical access to Karmapa. Known as The Billion Mantra Initiative, it is intended help smooth the way for the Karmapa to assume his rightful throne. Once this is accomplished, we expect he will be able to visit all of India and the rest of the world, including your own country. What to Do
Everyone can connect with and support Karmapa by participating in this offering of mantra recitations. We chant the traditional brief and potent mantra, KARMAPA CHENNO, as often as possible, and then submit monthly total recitations near the end of each month.
Here it is, written in Tibetan:
"Embodiment of the compassion of all Buddhas, take heed of me."In Central Tibet, it is pronounced Karmapa Kyen-no or Karmapa khen-no. If you are used to saying it in either of those ways, you do not have to change your pronunciation.
The ObjectiveOur goal is to offer H.H. Urgyen Trinley Dorje one billion (1, 000, 000, 000) mantras. We will not stop until we reach that goal. Please continue sending updates at month's end.
World total on Mar. 1/05 387, 225, 569
You can join into this Mantra recitation and submit your count to khandro (at) videotron (dot) ca
